Abstract

1298863 Anchorages TECHNIQUES LOUIS MENARD and COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DES PETROLES 23 Jan 1970 [7 Feb 1969] 3444/70 Heading E1B An anchorage head comprising a plate 1, offset arm 2 and pivot pin 3 is driven into the ground by a pile driver having a rod or tube with a slotted head to hold the bee, and then a load is applied by a cable or rod 4 to pivot the plate around to a position perpendicular to the direction of pull and give it a pullout resistance from 2-10 times the penetration resistance. In a modification the bed is H sectioned with a chain, attached to one web. The anchors may be used in soil stabilization, for anchoring foundations, sheet piling and floating platforms.
