Abstract
1297910 Electric couplings R E C BROWN 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 16624/70 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] A micro-switch contact 27 is mounted on, or integral with, an end portion 21 of a conductive ribbon which also comprises a central flexible portion 22 and a forked terminal tag 23. The flexibility of portion 22 may be enhanced by corrugating or helically twisting the portion, or, as shown, by forming two 90 degree twists at 24, 25. Portion 22 is insulated over most of its length, as by dipping, spraying or injection of insulating material, or pressing between strips of insulating material, or, preferably, by the application of a heat-shrinkable tube. In a modification, end portion 21 is bent to form a contact to receive a fuse or lamp. A plurality of flexible portions 22 may extend from one end portion 21, or apertures may be provided in the end portion to permit leads to be soldered thereto. Terminal tag 23 may alternatively be in the form of an annulus, or a plug or socket contact.
