Abstract

1297677 Valve Bases and Holders RCA CORPORATION 3 Feb 1970 [3 Feb 1969] 5198/70 Heading H2E An electron tube stem 2 and base 20 assembly and corresponding plastics socket 40 comprises a plastics base which encloses exhaust tubulation 18 of the tube and provides grooves (28, Fig. 3, not shown) in which lead pins 16 of the tube are supported, ribs 26, 26<SP>1</SP> separating the pins, said socket having corresponding ribs 50, for grooves 24 between the ribs of the base, from which leaf springs 60 are biased to engage the pins 16 of the tube. The width of the ribs or pin spacing may be increased to increase insulation between pins, such a rib 26<SP>1</SP> also acting as a polarizing key of the assembly.
