Abstract

1297210 Laminates DOW CORNING CORP 19 April 1971 [4 May 1970] 26163/71 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions B2 and C3] Glass fabric is treated in Example 2 with a sizing composition, impregnated with an epoxy resin which is the condensation product of 2 moles epichlorohydrin and 1 mole of bis-(parahydroxyl phenyl) dimethyl methane, and stacked into a 14-ply laminate which is then cured in a press. The sizing composition comprised polyvinyl acetate binder, dibutylphthalate plasticizer, a lubricant and a coupling agent composed of a mixture of 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane and methyltrimethoxysilane.
