1295364 Packaging sheet material PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 11 Aug 1970 [11 Aug 1969] 38690/70 Heading B8C A dispenser for sheet materials such as paper towels, facial tissues, napkins and woven or non-woven cleaning cloths comprises a stack of the sheets 21 adhered to a co-extensive header piece 23 or to an intermediate sheet 25 which is secured to the header piece 23, and a back extension 28 which is capable of being folded to form a suspension loop and has a free end which can be secured to a front extension 27 of the header piece 23. In one series of embodiments (Figs. 1-7) the header piece 23 and extensions 27, 28 are formed from a paperboard blank (22, Fig. 1). The blank (22) includes side extensions 29 which in combination with the extensions 27, 28 form a cap which covers the end of the stack of sheets 21 secured to the header piece 23. Score lines 33-37 facilitate the formation of the loop from the back extension 28. In an alternative series of embodiments (Figs. 9-11) the header piece and the front and back extensions and the header piece which may be planar (Fig. 9) or may have a downwardly concave or convex transverse cross-section (Figs. 10 and 11, respectively), are moulded from plastics material. The free end of the back extension is secured to the front extension by either interengaging tabs and slots (Figs. 1-4, 10 and 11), a double-faced pressure-sensitive adhesive tape (Fig. 6) or by a turned over, hook-shaped end of the back extension engaging the front extension (Figs. 5 and 9). The sheets of material are attached to the header piece in either the unfolded state (Fig. 8d) or in the folded state, having C-folds (Fig. 8a), Z-folds (Fig. 8b) or double Z-folds (Fig. 8c). The dispenser may be overwrapped by a protective covering.
