Abstract

1294860 Micro-wave oven ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO Ltd 17 June 1970 [27 June 1969] 32631/69 Heading A4D [Also in Division H5] A micro-wave oven comprises a casing, a micro-wave generator, and a light source positioned within the casing and energizable by the micro-wave energy to illuminate the interior of the oven. In the illustrated embodiment the light source comprises a fluorescent tube 5 mounted in a top corner of the oven 1 and filled with an ionizable gas such as neon. The micro-wave generator 3 includes a magnetron arranged to oscillate at 2450 MH z the micro-waves being fed into the oven via a waveguide (not shown). An inspection window 4 with a perforated metal screen is provided in the oven door 2.
