Abstract

1294093 Making electrical connections; jointing by stamping JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 20 Nov 1969 [20 Dec 1968] 60801/68 Headings B3A and B3Q A die-set for crimping connectors on to the ends of cables comprises a die 10 having a recess 11 and a further die 19 with a projection 20, the dies having flat surfaces 17, 24 movable towards each other, e.g. by means of a vice, for effecting a crimping operation. The recess 11 and/or the projection 20 may be stepped for operating on a cable's conductor and insulation simultaneously. Recesses 12, 22 with end walls 14 are for stripping insulation, and further recesses 13, 23 size the crimped connector.
