Abstract

1293746 Feeding sheets CANON KK 28 Jan 1970 [28 Jan 1969 19 Feb 1969] 4135/70 Heading B8R A paper sheet feed device comprises stack supporting means, e.g. a stand 1, sheet feed means which can be moved from a sheet feed position to a second position e.g. a plurality of rollers 5, 5 2 , 15 1 , 15 2 driven on a common shaft 7 which can be moved away from the stack on swingable arms 6, the feed means being maintained in said second position without any support from a stack on the supporting means so that the stack can be loaded or removed from the supporting means, means also being provided for returning the feed means automatically from said second position to said sheet feed position when the feed means is actuated in said second position, e.g. by its drive chain 16 engaging a detent member 18 thereby urging the arms 6 back into the feed position. Stacks of various sizes may be laid over a rod 14 and be located between side guides 2 1 , 2 2 and front stops 4 1 , 4 2 , the feed rollers causing successive uppermost sheets to buckle against the front stops until they flip over the stops to be fed over a guide plate 12 to rollers 13 1 , 13 2 . The chain may be replaced by a belt (19), Fig. 5 (not shown), having projections (20).
