Abstract
129,358. Weir, G. & J., and Lang, C. R. Oct. 31, 1917. Aspirating - apparatus, ejector. - Relates to steam-jet air-ejectors of the kind set forth in Specification 125,650, which have suction chambers of relatively small capacity with light non- return valves at the air inlets, and consists in the provision of one or more additional steam jets in series with the primary jet. Fig. 1 shows a primary jet b with suction chamber a and non-return valve d, the secondary steam-jet e having a group of co-operating nozzles in parallel surrounded by an annular chamber m. According to a modification, there may be three independent single - nozzle primary steam-jets, the combining cone of each delivering to a single-nozzle secondary steam-jet surrounded by an annular chamber. Alternatively, there may be multiple-nozzled primary jets with single or multiple secondary jets, or there may be three or more jets in series.
