Abstract

1291245 Paper making COLEY-ROTOLIN Ltd 1 July 1970 [5 July 1969] 33978/69 Heading D2A [Also in Division F2] A cage 1 for a ball or roller bearing has annular grooves 3 with sealing rings 4 therein which effect sealing between the cage and inner and outer races 6, 7. Each sealing ring 4 may have a trapezium shaped cross-section and may be provided with a facing ring 5 of nylon or PTFE having a channel shaped crosssection. Circlips 9 are mounted in grooves in the outer race 7 to limit axial movement of the cage 1. The outer race 7 is shaped externally as shown in Fig. I so as to support a doctor roll in a paper making machine and is provided with a lubrication passage 8.
