Abstract

1290781 Coated yarns; finishing fabrics; filter fabrics BERKENHOFF & DREBES AG 7 Jan 1970 [11 Jan 1969 28 Feb 1969 27 Nov 1969] 832/70 Headings D1K D1S and D1W A core 1 is coated with a molten synthetic thermoplastic material 2 to produce a yarn which is woven into a sieve fabric for a papermaking machine. The core may be of any mono- or multi-filament form, preferably in the range 1,000 to 2,500 dtex., and the coating, which may be of polyurethane, polyvinylidenefluoride, polyvinylfluoride, palytetrafluoroethylene-perfluoropropylene, polyamide, modified polyolefin or polycarbonate, polyimide, polybutylene or acrilonitrile, is preferably between 0.03 and 0.3 mm in thickness. The core may consist of two strands twisted together. The yarn is woven in a plain weave, the warp and weft intersections being welded by fusion of the coating material, and being pressed flat.
