Abstract
1289081 Carbon-containing articles CHELYABINSKY ORDENA LENINA ELEKTROMETALLURGICHESKY KOMBINAT 2 Jan 1970 214/70 Heading C1A A carbon-containing article is prepared by mixing a carbon-containing charge with titanium or boron oxides or with mixtures thereof, aiding binders to the produced mix, baking, or baking and graphitizing and machining. The articles may be graphitized at a rate temperature rise of 50‹ to 100‹ C. per hour to a temperature of not higher than 2800‹ C. Titanium oxides may be employed in an amount of 0À1 to 3À0% by weight, boron oxides may be employed in an amount of 0À1 to 3À0% by weight and a mixture of titanium and boron oxides may be used in amount of 0À1 to 3À0% by weight. Coal pitch is used as a binder in the examples.
