1289058 Process for aryl substituted alkanolthioalkyl-amines ALFA FARMACEUTICI SpA 3 May 1971 [18 May 1970] 12349/71 Addition to 1283505 Heading C2C The invention comprises a process for making therapeutic compounds (I) (including salts thereof) by condensing amines (II) or salts thereof with carbonyl compounds (IV), or amines (VII) or salts thereof with carbonyl compounds (V), and reducing the compounds obtained; Y<SP>1</SP> and Y<SP>2</SP> are H or a free, etherified or esterified hydroxy, R<SP>1</SP> is C 2-6 hydroxyalkylene the hydroxy of which is not bound to the same carbon as is bound to the nitrogen, R<SP>2</SP> is C 2-6 alkylene, R<SP>3</SP> is C 2-6 hydroxyalkylene or oxoalkylene, R<SP>4</SP> is C 2-6 oxoalkyl and R<SP>5</SP> is C 2-6 dioxoalkyl or hydroxyoxoalkyl wherein the two oxygens are bound to different carbon atoms.
