Abstract

1288684 1-Acylhydroquinolines BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 4 Feb 1970 [5 Feb 1969] 5351/70 Heading C2C 1 - Acylhydroquinolines of the general formula where R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>4</SP> are each H or C 1-4 alkyl, provided that at least one of R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>4</SP> is alkyl, R<SP>5</SP> is C 1-4 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical substituted by halogen and m is 0 or 1 are prepared by reacting 1,2 - dihydroquinolines or 1,2,3,4- tetrahydroquinolines with the corresponding acid halides or acid anhydrides. Amongst the examples the following compounds are mentioned: 1-chloroacetyl-2,2-dimethyl-l,2-dihydroquinoline, and 1-chloroacetyl-2,2,4-trimethyl- 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline. Herbicidal compositions comprise an active compound of the above general formula and a wetting or dispersing agent.
