Abstract
1288227 Gas/liquid contact apparatus KOBE STEEL Ltd 10 Sept 1969 [11 Sept 1968 20 Sept 1968 27 Sept 1968] 44746/69 Heading B1R A gas/liquid contact column comprises upper and lower contact sections packed with corrugated elements 1 of thin metal and preferably separated by vertical plates a liquid distributor distributing liquid over the elements of the upper section, a liquid and gas redistributor in a gap between the upper and lower sections and a gas distributor below the elements of the lower section. The corrugated elements may be perforated and the corrugations undulate and the elements may be arranged one above the other. The liquid distributor may consist of a trough having a perforated corrugated base and a liquid supply pipe and the liquid and gas redistributor comprises a trough receiving downflowing liquid from the upper section and having perforated walls and a corrugated contact element secured to a side wall thereof. The apparatus may be assembled and the parts secured together by brazing.
