Abstract

1288134 Valves MONOFLO INTERNATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT 10 Dec 1970 58763/70 Heading F2V A valve for controlling the supply of drinking media to poultry and other livestock comprises a synthetic plastics body 12, e.g., of acetal resin, providing a seat 35 for a valve element 32, and a metal plate 25 acting as a seat for a further valve element 27. Both valve elements are made of stainless steel and have frusto-conical or spheroidal surfaces for engaging their respective seats. The valve element 32 may be a ball. The plate 25 has a thickness which corresponds to half the difference of the diameter of the bore through the body 12 above the plate and the diameter of the bore through the plate. To effect flow of the drinking media the animal pushes stem 29 upwardly so as to lift the lower and then the upper valve elements from their seats.
