Abstract

1288108 Rotary mower MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG 3 Sept 1970 [4 Sept 1969] 42145/70 Heading A1F A rotary mower has at least one drum 1, driven about a vertical axis to which is attached a cutter plate 2. A pin 6 with a tapered head and a tapered body is held in a countersunk recess in the cutter plate by a leaf spring 5. The blade 3 is retained by the pin, the aperture 9 being considerably larger than the pin. To allow vertical deflection upon striking an obstruction, the gap between the cutter plate 2 and the spring 5 is greater than the width of the blade. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) an additional pin (10) secures the spring to the cutter plate so that pin 6 can be of a simpler shape.
