Abstract

1287126 Filling pressurized dispensing containers NEOTECHNIC ENG Ltd 1 Oct 1970 [13 Oct 1969] 50240/69 Heading F1R [Also in Division B8] A valve assembly for a pressurized dispensing container comprises a valve stem 21 mounted in a rigid valve housing 15 within a rigid casing member 10 and having therebetween a diaphragm 27 forming an annular seal which may be deformed into a recess 13 formed between the diaphragm and the casing member by flow of pressurized fluid from a filling head 41 to allow passage of fluid through the valve assembly. Stem 21 is biased upwardly into its closed position so that bore 26 is vented to atmosphere and slot 24 is in flow communication with a container 42 attached to casing member 10, but depression by the head 41 during filling or refilling forces pressurized fluid through bores 25, 26, deflecting diaphragm 27 upwardly so forcing a passage under the resilient diaphragm and through one or more apertures 45, provided in housing 15, into the container 42. In normal operation, the valve assembly dispenses fluid from a metering tank formed in the interior of valve housing 15. The casing member 10 may form the whole or part of a container.
