Abstract

1286758 Visors M D S LUX 7 May 1971 [3 July 1970] 32430/70 Heading A3V A visor comprises a flexible sheet 10 of transparent plastics material which has three slots 18, 19 and 20 cut therein adjacent one edge 11 in spaced relation and in each slot is adjustably located a press stud fastener 23 having a female portion for engaging with a complementary male stud fixed on a helmet so as to secure the visor to the helmet and each fastener 23 also having a male portion for engaging with a complementary female member on an eye-shield so as to secure the latter to the visor. In addition two press stud fasteners 28 are provided in adjustment slots 21 and 22 adjacent the side edges 12 and 13 of the visor which fasteners either may be single female members for engagement with male studs on the helmet or may also comprise male portions like the fasteners 23 for the attachment of accessories to the visors. The visor may alternatively be mounted on a brow bar which pivots relative to the helmet instead of being fixedly mounted on the helmet. A thickened bead portion 17 is provided to cover the arcuate edge 17 of the visor.
