Abstract
1286112 Determining co-efficients of friction of material INSTITUT ZA HEMIJSKA TEHNOLOSKA I METALURSKA ISTRAZIVANJA 11 Sept 1969 [11 Sept 1968] 44846/69 Heading G1S Slide members 1 which may be electrically heated and provided each with a thermometer 5 are covered with pieces of sheet material to be tested and may be rotated from the horizontal to the vertical by a shaft and an electric motor. Body members 9, previously wrapped with similar pieces of sheet material and placed each on a slide 1, eventually slide off the rising members 1 and hit recording means 10 before striking a buffer pad 8. Each means 10 actuates a corresponding pen 11 of a recorder supported above a chart 3 so that the pen marks the chart, and from this the tangent of the angle between the surface and the horizontal may be determined and related to the co-efficient of friction. The whole apparatus is timer controlled.
