1285353 Sweetener HAYASHIBARA CO 5 Aug 1969 [5 Aug 1968] 39216/69 Heading A2B [Also in Division C3] A sweetener for a food or beverage is prepared by hydrolysing starch with an acid and/or enzyme and further treating the resultant hydrolysed starch with an α-1,6-glucosidase to form a low viscosity starch syrup (as defined) comprising straight-chain oligosaccharides. The low viscosity syrup may be added to the food or beverage to be sweetened.
