1284894 Gas filter cleaning LUGAR GES FUR ENTSTAUBUNGSTECHNIK mbH 31 Oct 1969 53397/69 Heading BIT The hollow fabric filter elements in each chamber of a housing are cleaned by first simultaneously closing an outlet valve leading to a suction source and opening a second valve to connect the chamber in question to a reciprocating valve, which repeatedly connects the downstream side of the chamber to the suction source and to a supply of reverse flow gas. Additional valves, pressure or times are so arranged that each reciprocation of the valve first allows the dirty gas pressure to deflate the elements but without any filtration occuring, then reverse flow gas inflates the elements and continues to flow for a short time after they are fully inflated. The outlet and second valves of the different chambers are operated in sequence by a common motor, while a second motor operates the reciprocating valve, which serves all the chambers. The lower ends of the chambers open into a common dust hopper with a discharge worm. The dust content of incoming gas or the permeability loss of the elements may be monitored by a device which controls the multivalve motor to vary the duration of cleaning periods.
