Abstract

1284435 Milling cutters FAGERSTA AB 30 Oct 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 53090/69 Heading B3K An indexable insert 12 in a milling cutter is locked in position by means of a screw 21, the head portion 22 of which has a frusto-conical surface 24 arranged on tightening of the screw to make contact first with the insert 12 and on further tightening, accompanied by flexure or tilting of the screw, with a reaction surface 25 formed on the body 10 of the cutter. As shown, clearance may be provided on the screw threads to facilitate tilting of the screw.
