Abstract
1284072 Fixing inserts NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 5 Aug 1969 37732/68 Heading F2H [Also in Division G1] In Fig. 1, a bolt 19 to be fixed in a hole 16 having a cavity 31 at the end thereof comprises pivoted members 27 which may be moved from the operative position shown to the inoperative position shown in dotted outline by turning screw 23. The pin may comprise two or more, e.g. six pivoted members. In Fig. 4 a threaded rod 32 is fixed in cavity 53 by a head part comprising 8 spring loaded fingers 43 which are expanded to grip shoulders 53 by expander sleeve 39. The expander sleeve 39 is moved axially of rod 32 by turning ring 38, which is coupled by splines to sleeve 39, relative to rod 32, the sleeve 39 being screw threaded on to rod 32. In Fig. 6 bolt 48 has a conical head 49 which expands split sleeve 55. The sleeve 55 may comprise a series of fingers joined at flange 54, or separate finger like components which are assembled to form the sleeve. When anchored, a flange 51 formed by disc part 50 of head 49 abuts the end of the sleeve 53.
