Abstract
1283911 Bowden mechanisms BOWDEN CONTROLS Ltd 28 Aug 1969 [28 May 1968] 25542/68 Heading F2K In a low friction Bowden mechanism, the surface of the inner member and/or the inner surface of the outer or conduit member comprises a coating or surface impregnation of a polyfluorocarbon plastics, or a material which contains a polyfluorocarbon plastics, on a base of thermoplastics material having a higher resistance to compression than the polyfluorocarbon, such as a polyamide, polyacetal, polyolefin, or polyester plastics. The polyfluorocarbon is preferably p.t.f.e. or a p.t.f.e. and vinylidene chloride copolymer. The conduit, or a liner within the conduit, may be of the base material, and the cable of uncoated metal, or a metal conduit and a cable coated with the base plastics and the polyfluorocarbon may be used.
