Abstract

1283880 Electrostatic spraying ATLAS COPCO AB 2 Dec 1969 [30 Dec 1968 6 Nov 1969] 52344/71 Divided out of 1272848 Heading B2F In an electrostatic powder spraying device for providing an even coating of powder on a work piece, powder is fed from a hopper over the whole axial length of a rotating brush or distributing spiral, from which it is blown by an air current to a charging outlet. In Fig. 1, powder in hopper 20 is loosened by blowing air through sintered base 51 and is fed through holes, in a cylindrical chamber (e.g. 30 in Fig. 2), to the periphery of a roller brush 31, rotated by fan motor 21. The air currents 32, 35 carry the powder through outlet slot 25, which is electrically connected to high-voltage generator 22. In Fig. 2 an air compressor 33 is provided. In another form, a screw conveyor (78 Fig. 3, not shown) ensures that the powder, from hopper (75) is distributed evenly along the length of a rotary blower (79).
