Abstract

1283154 Motor casings; electric couplings GENERAL MOTORS Ltd 22 April 1971 [25 April 1970] 20010/70 Headings H2A and H2E In a windscreen wiper motor having reduction gearing enclosed by a gear-box 3 integral with the motor easing (2), the gear-box is closed by a detachable plastics cover 5 formed integral with one member 6 of a plug and socket connector by means of which the motor is connected to the external circuit. As shown, the member 6 comprises a rectangular housing -containing spadetype terminal pins such as 10 which are mounted on the cover 5 by splaying the ends 17 of bifurcated, lateral extensions 15. Rearward extensions 18 on the pins have tabs 19 crimped on to wires 20. At least one terminal pin has a spring arm 21 secured to the underside of the cover by the extension 15 and carrying a contact 22 which engages a rotary contact 23 or a gear member 4.
