Abstract

1282846 Sanitary closets TEBE-ELPRODUKTER AB 19 April 1971 [10 Feb 1970] 20978/71 Heading E1C A sanitary closet comprises a casing 13 the upper wall of which is provided with a pivoted seat 15 and a thermally insulated cover 16, a well-like chamber 2 arranged below the seat opening and formed by a container 1 in the form of a plastics bag which rests within a tubular member 3 having channels for conducting a cooling medium or refrigerant around the circumference of the chamber, an outer wall 7 of thermally insulating material being provided around the tubular member and refrigeration apparatus consisting of a radiator coil 8, a compressor 9, a drier 10, a heat exchanger 11 and a thermostat 12 being connected with the cooling channels and radiator coil to form a refrigeration system for cooling the contents of the container 1 to about -15 degrees C. The refrigeration system is made operative upon manual actuation of a switch (20, Fig. 2, not shown). Heat produced by the radiator coil 8 is caused to create a flow of warm air which warms the seat 15 on its way to a ventilating outlet 19. An air inlet opening 18 is provided in the casing 13. The cover 16 may be equipped with a pump and tank for spraying the interior of the container 1 with a powder or a foam forming and/or rapidly freezing agent to ensure rapid de-odorizing of the contents. Preferably, the pump (22, Fig. 3, not shown) is operated automatically when the cover 16 is closed by contact with the seat 15. The container 1 is retained by an annular clip 6 whereby it is readily removable. Alternative means, e.g. carbon dioxide snow, may be used for cooling the container 1.
