Abstract
1281700 Photoconductive member ITEK CORP 14 July 1969 [15 July 1968] 35290/69 Heading H1K [Also in Division G2] An imaging medium comprises an inorganic particulate photosensitive photoconductor in a water-permeable binder which is deposited in a layer having a thickness of less than 10 microns on a receptive metallic support (i.e. a metallic support which has been physically or chemically roughened in order that a metallic image deposited thereon by physical development will be adherently bound to the support or a physically smooth support which by chemical means will form an adhesive bond with a metallic image deposited thereon by physical development) and wherein the photoconductor is photoconductively insulated from the metallic support. This insulation may be provided by the binder in which the photoconductor is dispersed, a separate insulating layer such as a silicate layer, the metal oxide of the metal of the support or the photo-conductor itself may act as an insulating layer if it is sufficiently thick. The insulating layer is preferably solvent permeable and at least 10 Š thick. In the examples titanium dioxide is used as the photoconductor.
