1281770 Furniture frames and joints OSF INDUSTRIES Ltd 23 Dec 1970 [4 March 1970] 61035/70 Heading A4H [Also in Division E2] A frame for a display table comprises four corner posts 10 (11, 12, 13), Fig. 1 (not shown), and two similar intermediate posts (14, 15), releasably inter-connected by upper and lower frame members (16), 17 (18-21 and 22-27). Each corner post, e.g. 10, is square or rectangular in cross-section and of e.g. tubular steel. Two adjacent faces 29, 30 of post 10 have respective upper slots 32, 33 and 34, 35 and respective lower slots (36 and 37), Fig.3 (not shown). A reciprocable U-section latch member 38 is slideably mounted within post 10 and urged upwardly by a spring (39) to an unlocked position in which slots 42(-47) thereof substantially register with the respective slots 32(-37) of the post 10. The upper and lower frame members, e.g. 17 (and 23) have at each end respectively a pair of tongues 52, 53 and a single tongue (54), Fig. 2 (not shown), and these tongues are inserted into respective registering slots 34, 44 and 35, 45 (and 37, 47) of the post and latch member. The latch member 38 is then moved downwardly, by a tool applied to a screw 49 threaded into a wall 48 of the latch member 38, to a locked position in which the part of the latch member above each latch slot is received in a notch 57 in the respective tongue. The intermediate posts (14, 15) also have slots in a third adjacent face for intermediate rails inter-connecting these posts.
