1281060 Valves VYSSHEE TEKHNICHESKOE UCHILISCHE im NE BAUMANA 1 Nov 1969 53653/69 Heading F2V [Also in Division G1] The movable member 8 of the valve is actuated by passing an electric current through one or more turns of wire 2 connected between a fixed support 3 and a support 4 rigid with a spring-loaded lever 5. The current heats the coil or coils which expand and allow the spring to pivot lever 5 and move the actuating rod 7. The lever 5 and spring 10 may be replaced by a leaf spring. The casing 1 is preferably evacuated. The turns may be coated with gold or silver.
