1280809 Detecting gases N TAGUCHI 20 Nov 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 55305/70 Heading G1N [Also in Division H1] In a metal oxide semi-conductor gas detecting device, the semi-conductor material has silica or silica gel added thereto to increase sensitivity. The semi-conductor material is dipped in or kneaded with a solution containing a silicon compound, e.g. silicate hydrosol, alkyl silicide, alkyl silicate or silanol, and the product is heated, oxidized or hydrolized to form the silica or silica gel.
