Abstract

1280774 Fastener driving machine JOH FRIEDRICH BEHRENS 4 Feb 1970 [18 Feb 1969] 5367/70 Heading B4C In a machine for driving staples, headed nails or pins a rail 10 for guiding staples towards a driving channel is provided with a longitudinal groove 17 in which nails or pins may be located when the machine is to be used for nailing. The staples on the rail or the nails or pins within the longitudinal recess are biased towards the driving channel by a pusher 12 attached to one end of a spring 11. The pusher includes two outer flanges 12a and an intermediate flange 12c depending from a web 12b. The driving channel has a recess 8a for receiving a staple, a groove 7a of less width for locating the leading headed nail in a driving position and a groove 7b of triangular section for locating the leading pin. A spring urged plate 22 is provided in one wall of the groove 17 for holding pins against vertical displacement during use of the machine. The machine has a driving member (5) (Fig. 1, not shown) which may be actuated pneumatically, electromagnetically or mechanically.
