Abstract
128,076. Mooney, D. J. Sept. 3, 1918. Framework. - Metal spars, longerons, &c. have wood fillings for attaching frame members by wood-screws or brads, and for strengthening and supporting the members. The spars &c. may have side flanges to receive wood strips e, while strips h may be used between the flanges or between the strips e. In the latter case, the strips e may be recessed to allow insertion of the strip h, the recesses being afterwards filled in. Wood fillings may also be used between the channels b to stiffen the spars and to carry bolts for the wiring- plates. Specification 8522/12 is mentioned.
