Abstract
128,018. McCulloch, C., and United Alkali Co. June 21, 1918. Check lift valves.-A check valve of the kind comprising an annular plate adapted to work on a central guide secured between a seat and a guard-plate has the guide chamfered in such a manner that a very small lift of the valve proper greatly increases the outlet between the valve member and the guide. The ported valve member C of steel, brass or duralumin is held against rotation by holes c<2> engaging pins a<3> on the seats A, and is loaded by a series of springs arranged in the guard-plate which is bolted to the seat. The guide-disk B is chamfered at b and has a hole b<2> to engage a pin a<2> on the seat.
