Abstract

1280018 Outboard drives A M LAWSON 31 Dec 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 49146/69 Heading B7V A drive mechanism for coupling an inboard power unit to a boat propeller comprises two separate units A, B each comprising a housing 1, 11 respectively securable to a boat hull and a pair of rotatable shafts 2, 3 and 21, 13 respectively connected in driving relation in the housing at 90‹ to each other with one end of one shaft 3, 12 respectively of each unit projecting from the housing and adapted to receive a coupling sleeve in driving relation therewith, and a coupling sleeve 21 adapted to fit over the ends of said shaft. The shaft 2 is for connection to the output shaft of the power unit, and the shaft 13 for connection to the propeller. The unit A is secured inside, and the unit B outside, the boat hull.
