Abstract

1280003 Printing on curved surfaces MURRAY CURVEX PRINTING Ltd 11 June 1970 [26 June 1969] 32256/69 Heading B6C Conical cups 8 are printed in multi-colour in an automatically operated machine comprising an intermittently movable conveyor 1 carrying a plurality of resiliently mounted offset blankets 2 which are imaged by screen-stencilling apparatus A to E held above the conveyer. The printing inks are thermoplastic and are heated to the "treacle'' state for transfer through the stencils to the offset blankets where they solidify until at the printing station F they are re-fused for transfer to the cups. If cylindrical objects are to be printed rectangular offset blankets are used.
