Abstract
1279316 Electromagnetic relays P E UGON 22 July 1969 [23 July 1968] 36889/69 Heading H1N A " free armature" relay as described in Specification 1,198,493 has means such as stops 11, 12 which restrict the armature 9 to generally rotary motion without applying any bias to the armature. The armature is retained by the influence of permanent magnets 1, 2, 3, 4 to bridge either contacts 5, 7 or 6, 8. The armature and contacts may be sealed in an envelope (Fig. 2, not shown) under vacuum or filled with inert gas or liquid. Other shapes and forms of restricting means may be provided (Figs. 3, 4, 5, not shown) and the permanent magnets may be common to two relays (Figs. 6, 7, 8, not shown).
