Abstract

1278994 Liquid fuel burners DANFOSS AS 17 Oct 1969 [6 Nov 1968] 51121/69 Heading F4T In an oil pump and blower arrangement for use in a heating system, the oil pump 2 and blower wheel 24 are driven by a common electric motor 1, both being mounted coaxially on the motor shaft 6, which has a central bore 9 serving as a discharge passage from a chamber 12 defined by the end face 27 of the pump housing 15 and an extension 13 in the motor housing 4. A toothed coupling 18 connects the pump shaft 17 to the motor shaft 6 to which the blower wheel 24 is also secured. A throttle passage 16 provides communication between the chamber 12 and the atmosphere. Oil which leaks from the pump into the chamber 12 is vaporized by the heat of the motor, and is entrained with a stream of air drawn in through the throttle passage 16 by the action of the blower wheel 24, which produces a reduced pressure at the end 10 of the bore 9. The mixture of oil and air passes through holes 22 in the coupling 18, along the bore 9 to the end 10, where it mixes with the air supplied by the blower to the combustion space.
