Abstract
1278752 Introducing the vapour of a volatile liquid into a gas stream WESTINGHOUSE BREMSEN-UND APPARATEBAU GmbH 6 Jan 1971 [4 March 1970] 538/71 Heading B1R The vapour of an anti-freeze liquid is introduced into a gas from a compressor flowing in a line 3 by means of a wick 14 immersed at its lower end in a body of the liquid in a contamer I and surrounding a stem 12 secured to a piston 6 movable in a cylinder 5 by changes in the pressure of the gas in line 3 to project and withdraw the wick into and from the line 3. The pressure of the gas in line 3 is communicated by a pipe 10 to the underside of the piston 6 and the upper side thereof is acted upon by atmospheric pressure and a compression spring 11. The space above the liquid in container 1 is vented to line 3 through a bore 15. As shown a member 18 is preventing movement of the piston but normally this member is in a raised position. In a second embodiment the piston is above the line 3.
