Abstract

1278539 Endless conveyors P PATIN 15 Dec 1970 [5 Jan 1970] 59482/70 Heading B8A A variable speed conveying surface is provided by a series of transversely spaced belts 1a which are interleaved with a similar series of slightly faster running belts 16. The latter are interleaved with a further series of still faster running belts 1c, and so on. The belts are each mounted on a series of rollers 2 which bear on the surface of a non-circular member 3a, 3b etc. Each member 3a is separated from its adjacent transverse member by a spacer 5a. Similar spacers 5b, 5c, 5d separate the members 3b, 3c, 3d etc. The belts are driven from a motor 12 which acts through variable speed gearing on pinions 9a, 9b . . . . which mesh with teeth formed on the belts 1a, 16 ....
