Abstract
1278094 Ammoxidation process SOC NATIONALE DES PETROLES D'AQUITAINE 18 June 1969 [19 June 1968] 30909/69 Heading C2C Unsaturated aliphatic nitriles are obtained by oxidizing olefins in the gaseous state with oxygen, in the presence of ammonia and in contact with supported catalysts containing phosphorus, vanadium and molybdenum in the form of the phosphovanado-molybdic heteropolyanions. The heteropolyanion may be at least partly combined with tellurium or antimony, and the catalyst may have the formula [(NH 4 ) 16 P 2 V 16 MO 14 O 95 )m. [TeH 6 O 6 )t, the ratio of t : m being from 0 to 30. Acetonitrile and acrolein may be produced as by-products of the above process.
