Abstract
1276029 Metallurgical converters DEMAG AG 4 Nov 1969 [25 Jan 1969] 54064/69 Heading F4B A metallurgical vessel has an encircling support ring 5 to which a pair of trunnions 6 are secured, a connector ring 8 having a frustoconical outer surface, the ring 8 being welded to the support ring 5 and to the shell 11 of the converter, and tie members 16 extending between brackets 15 secured respectively to the support ring 5 and to the wall of the vessel. At the position at which the connector ring 8 contacts the vessel wall 11, the vessel 1 is encircled by a reinforcing ring 12. The connector ring 8 is reinforced internally by ribs 13. A further reinforcing ring 14 is provided to which the brackets 15 are secured.
