Abstract

1275738 Tray corner joints ALLEN DAVIES & CO Ltd 24 July 1969 [25 July 1968] 35625/68 Addition to 1221928 Headings B8C and B8P A corner joint for a tray erected from a cardboard blank (Fig. 1) is formed by overlapping wall extensions 12, 18, interconnected via a strap 20, so that a stepped tab 14 may lock within a corresponding slit 26, 30, 28. The extensions 12, 18 are defined by cutting out a portion (10, Fig. 1) from the bottom 1, the portion being contoured to provide the bottom with corners of the required shape e.g. round, square. Walls 2, 4 may be upright or inclined outwardly either in whole or in part. Strap 20 may be provided with an additional fold line (23, Fig. 1). The tray is suitable for containing articles to form a package which is to be over-wrapped with heat shrinkable material.
