Abstract
1275260 Natural gas separation process ESSO RESEARCH & ENG CO 26 Aug 1969 [30 Sept 1968] 46349/68 Heading F4P Compressed natural hydrocarbon gas is freed of C 6 +h.c. by first adding propane, butane or pentane or a mixture of two or more thereof, e.g. 1 to 3% to the raw gas and then chilling the mixture thereby condensing and withdrawing the C 6 +h.c. The method is suitable for treating "dry" natural gas obtained from sandstone deposits and which contains less C 3 to C 5 h.c. than does "wet" gas obtained from associated crude oil deposits. The pressure is 900 to 1200 p.s.i. and the condensation temperature is -4‹ to 20‹ F.
