127,501. Harrington, F. C. A. Nov. 26, 1918. Track apparatus for stopping trains. - A brake valve lever k is opened by a vertically sliding rod g carrying a cross-head i with adjustable extensions h which rest on the horns e<1> of a pivoted member e, the downwardlyextended arm a of which engages a track ramp. The member e is controlled by springs r attached to it and to a fixed guide-frame c. The rod g is held raised, after operation, by a pawl and notch device n, m. The upper end of the rod g is free of the brake valve, and the hook or fork member k may be connected directly to the rod g or by link-work so as to operate the valve lever upwardly, downwardly, or horizontally.
