Abstract

1275059 Treating seeds SCOTTISH AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 11 Nov 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 53613/68 Heading A2Q [Also in Division C1] A method of stimulating the germination of seeds and the growth of plants comprises the application of a compound of Formula II wherein X is halogen, R is H or alkyl, R 1 and R 2 are alkyl, m is 0 or 1 and n is 1, 2 or 3, in admixture with a diluent, the application being at the rate of 0.25 to 36 oz./acre of the compound. Application to oats, barley, wheat and grass is specified and in the examples 3 - (3,4 - dichlorophenyl) - 1 - methoxy - 1 - methyl - urea is used. Optional ingredients are the organic phosphorus compounds used in Specification 1253038. The invention comprises seeds coated with the said ureas.
