Actuating pumps; valves, arrangement of.-An air-pump, specially applicable for producing pressure in the fuel tanks of engines used in aircraft. comprises a cylindrical casing a which forms a crank case and cylinder, and in which are disposed a crank, a connecting-rod h, a piston e, and a cup-leather f, the fluid being delivered through a non-return valve m. A delivery pipe k and a lubricator n are provided, and the casing has top and bottom covers j, d. According to the Provisional Specification, the crank may be driven by a propeller rotated by the passage of the aircraft through the air, or by connexion to the engine, and the circumference of the piston may have one or more flats to facilitate the passage of the air.
