Abstract

1,274,455. Aerating liquids. SCHWEPPES Ltd. 28 July, 1970 [28 July, 1969], No. 37686/ 69. Heading B1C. In a post-mix carbonated beverage dispenser (Fig. 1) CO 2 is supplied to a carbonator 4 from a cylinder 5 which also pressurizes a syrup tank 6. Water is sprayed into the carbonator through a multiple orifice nozzle and carbonated water discharged through line 21. The water and syrup pass through cooling coils 22, 26, regulating valves 8, 9 and a dual dispensing valve 10. The carbonator, Fig. 2, has a float F on a rod 30 having at its upper end a magnetic head 33 which operates a limit switch S controlling operation of the water pump motor 2, Fig. 1. The water inlet W has two ball check valves (35, Fig. 4 not shown) in series and two or more injection openings (42) in an interchangeable nozzle (40).
