Abstract
1,274,201. Air filter and material distributor. ROTARY HOES Ltd. 2 Sept., 1969 [10 Sept., 1968], No. 42954/68. Heading B1T. Means for distributing- fibrous or granular material along a trough 15 comprises a casing 10 extending parallel to the trough, perforate walls 13 forming a duct and an imperforate door 26 which can be opened to allow the material to fall into the trough. The bottom of the trough may be a conveyor leading to a silo. The material is delivered to the inlet of duct 13 by a blower or moving belt and is then drawn as a suspension in air into the duct 13 by an extraction fan (35, Fig. 1 not shown) and is retained therein by the filtering action of the perforated walls of the duct 13. The amount of material drawn into the duct 13 can be controlled by a switch in the extraction fan motor circuit operated by a valve sensitive to the air pressure at the outlet of the casing 40. The said switch may be under a time control device to close the motor circuit, to automatically fill the duct 13.
